Travis woke with a start, heart thudding in this chest…then he felt Ennis beside him, breathing slow and even, still asleep.

The dream, nightmare, took him back years…back to the times before Ennis had fallen in love with him…times too painful to recall, when he never knew from one week to the next if Ennis would be there.

He sighed; it was all different now. The bond they had forged was standing the test of time. He’d been right all along: Ennis was all he wanted, all he needed…and, it turned out, Ennis wanted him too…needed him, too.

Everything was perfect.
