Another day down...he’d been saying that to himself a lot lately...

He’d got a lot done, both at the trailer yesterday and at work today. But he was getting frustrated, especially when he looked down the years to come and saw another seven thousand days just like today...just like yesterday.

There were a few good things...like he’d never had to move in with Junior, don’t know how he could have done that, he was pretty good at living alone. And he didn’t really mind working for the next two decades, he liked the ranch all right.

It was the in between time that he didn’t like...the times of nothing and no one, and not much good happening...just...nothing.

He’d got a lot done yesterday and today...maybe he was just tired.

I think Ennis, in his simple way, was able to see it like that...not that he broke it down into components of love and life and broken hearts, but it came down to the same thing in his mind, I think...he was finally made, with the finding of the shirts, to realize what he'd had, what he'd lost, and I believe he is "better off", not exactly the right phrase but he knows he had something good and that, though he misses Jack, what they had together will get him through the lonliness...

oh, brother - how melodramatic can I get!!!

But....it's what I believe.....and I don't think I've plunged the depths of my melodramatic-ness, so you might want to be afraid!
