On Thursday Tim was already in the tack room when the men started showing up,
waited until everybody was there, then laid out the initial plan for the roundup.

They had to start now, get things in motion and make sure they could even get
ten people who were interested in coming here.

He mentioned that management liked Ennis's idea of a questionnaire, they would
have one put together but most likely the cowboys wouldn't have any input into
it, a statement that was met with eye-rolling and head-shaking by the men.

After receiving answers back from customers, along with a hefty deposit, two or
three of the men would be asked to start looking for appropriate horses for the
guests...Tim had tentatively picked Ennis, David and Mark for that task.

When the weather broke, hopefully in March, a crew would come in and build a
bunkhouse that could be enlarged if the roundup was successful and more business
seemed likely.

He asked if there were any questions, but was met with silence...they would talk
things over between themselves later...so Tim said get back to work, and left
the room.

David made a fresh pot of coffee, and the horses would go hungry for another hour
as the cowboys rehashed the new developments.

It is hard being a supervisor some are natural and some are not. It is also difficult as a supervisor making changes because they are almost always met with resistance. At least he has a natural leader in Ennis who is thinking and finding ways to make it work. joe

Change is hard, but Ennis does seem to be making some small changes on his own, maybe coming out of his shell just a little.
