Work was picking up, there was a lot to be done before winter set in.

Ennis was part of the group that would be working on the cattle side of the ranch this week, driving to the main barn then riding the mile to where the herd was currently grazing and moving them to another area.

Felt good to be back in the saddle, good to be back in fresh, cold air. Urging his horse forward to cut off a potential calf escape, he briefly wondered how people could work inside all day…then, circling the calf to bring him back around, his attention was brought back to his own daily grind…which he wouldn’t trade for anything.
