“Well. First we got there and Granpop showed me the horses in their rooms, they were eating breakfast and I kinda got hungry.........then we went to the room with the saddles and stuff but before we could put a saddle on them Granpop got a rope and took me down to where Thumbtack lives and put a thing around his head, then put the rope on and they came outside, so then.........Thumbtack was in the middle between the rooms, tied up to the wall, and Granpop let me pet him and he told me all about Thumbtack and about not to hurt him and I petted his leg and Granpop said it was okay if petted his tummy so I did, so then..........he let me brush him and then he put a saddle on him and then he put me up on him and he led me around......it was scary at first but Granpop told me to hold onto that thing on the saddle and then I wasn’t scared.......Granpop asked me if I wanted to ride by myself and I was gonna......but he said he didn’t mind walking so we did that for a while.......it felt funny when the horse walked, kind of bumpy, but I got used to it and then I liked it, so then.........we stopped and Granpop showed me how to take care of Thumbtack…..he gave the rope to me and I walked him around and he ate some grass.......then he showed me how to fill up his water bucket and how horses always need a lot of water......and then he got brushed again…and then he went to his room and Granpop said he would come back later and give him hay for dinner......and after, guess what......Granpop took me to the diner and we sat in a booth and he said I could have whatever I wanted.......so I said I wanted a banana split and he said was it okay if we shared one and so we did and he let me have the chocolate ice cream.”
