He ended up not working Friday...not because of a holiday or leisure time off...the truck wouldn’t start on Friday morning so he ended up spending the better part of the cold, drizzly day on his back under the damn thing, and bent over the engine trying to figure out what was wrong.
Stopped at two o’clock to wolf down a sandwich and a Coke, then called Pick-Up Heaven, the only place within fifty miles that carried truck parts, told them to hold a rebuilt carb for a 76 Ford F100...he didn't want to but had no choice but to call Tim and ask if he could send one of the guys to go get it and bring it over...told him he’d work Saturday to make up the time...which pissed Ennis off because now he’d have to let Junior know that they couldn’t take the kids to cut down a Christmas tree until Sunday.
a/n: Pick-Up Heaven is a real truck parts store in Austin, although the first time I saw the sign from the freeway, I thought it was a strip club...
