Michael was having a great time.

Fuck the show...right now he couldn't care less about the real reason he had gone to Amarillo.

The first time he set eyes on Jack he knew he wanted him. He just didn't know if he stood a chance.

He'd deliberately stayed back after all the others had left the table, hoping that something would happen...hoping that Jack would say something...and he sure had.

When Michael said he should leave along with the others, Jack had softly said, “No need.”

Sweet words.

'Course, it just coulda been a one night stand....he'd had them before, and hated every one, but Jack was different and Michael was ready to take a chance...he'd take a chance at a one night stand and hope for more.

And he had tried to keep his distance...tried to make offhand answers to Jack's questions...but his heart was pounding, he wanted him so bad...but he tried to stay cool.

Until Jack had come over to him...shirt unbuttoned...jeans unzipped...and he had stroked Michael's face and had asked him what he wanted to happen.

It was all he could do to give a coherent answer.

Michael had had two lovers in his life...his experience was limited and he didn't want to come across to Jack as either a virgin or a whore.

So he'd acted on instinct...the raw feelings that he felt inside for this man - for this man only - surfaced, and the love he made that night was both tender and feral...sweet, and more passionate than he'd ever felt.

This was definitely trouble...but so fucking worth it.

Oh, yeah! Will we get Ennis' POV in this fic? And I've been saying all along that Michael is too appealing.

And what trouble is Michael in for? He said he had a missus, if he does, will he be any more available for Jack than Ennis?

the trouble is falling for Jack.

I assume Jack always wore his wedding ring, no reason to take it off, so Michael would know without being told that he was married.

And wondering if he is just a one night stand, and already wanting it to be more than that...and you know the more time someone spends with Jack, the more they want him.

He is already starting to feel something, and even if the feelings are just physical attraction right now...well, that's how most relationships start...

I put this comment to Soulan for the same question you asked, about Ennis's pov...

But we already know Ennis's pov.

He might have some sleepless nights missing Jack, and sex with Jack, but he's not going to quit his job, he's not going to try to make arrangements, he's not going out of his way to try meet him early. In his mind, there is nothing that can be done...and maybe that's true, but he won't try!

It's never "maybe", it's always "no".

I love Ennis...but he's sapping my strength :)

I welcome rebuttals on this. Change my mind, please!

Wish I could change your mind, but I agree if you stay within canon, the only thing that will change Ennis' mind is Jack's death. And we all know that it's too late by then.
