The velvet curtain of night was just beginning to lift...dawn, naked and pure, teased the day, would soon show itself in its splendor.

Jack woke up with Michael's arm around him...Michael's naked body against his back...Michael breathing in and out, his breath warm on his neck. It was comforting...it felt good...it had been a long time since he'd had the sensation of closeness, a long time since Ennis had lain up against him like that...

He turned quietly in Michael's arms and met his eyes, still half-closed...he took Michael's lower lip softly in his teeth, then released it, licked the same spot...then he fell back and Michael moved forward, lips barely moving, kissed the circle of Jack's mouth...
