Sunday morning, and he’d promised to drive Junior and the kids to church and take them home after.

He sat in a beat up lawn chair outside his trailer drinking his second cup of coffee and trying to decide what to do for the hour they’d be in church, since he sure wasn’t going, finally settled on stopping at the diner for breakfast since it was good, cheap and fast, and he figured he could put up with Deena, the waitress, asking him about his love life for the time it would take him to eat two eggs, four pieces of bacon, two pieces of toast, and have another cup of coffee.

Deena was a nice enough woman and he’d tossed around in his head more than once asking her for coffee or something, the something being a fuck, but she was a bit long-faced, and while horses were his favorite animal, he preferred them in his barn and not in his bed.

yes- thinking about Deena in this way is just mean, but I want to concentrate on the breakfast.It's nice he's doing things with his daughter and his grandkids and actually going out - even if it's for breakfast. Sounds like luxury to me
